Ian Sanderson, Architect

Ian qualified as an architect in 2009 from the University of Huddersfield, where he also studied undergraduate and post-graduate courses in architecture. This fulfilled his aim of obtaining ARB and RIBA status.

Having previously worked in one of the region’s largest private practices for more than nine years, Ian gives Box Architects his experience in residential, commercial, healthcare and retail sectors. He has experience of developments for a Health Trust on the north of England and multiple large blue-chip companies. This includes being the Project Architect for the construction of a prestigious European headquarters facility.

One of Ian’s current passions within architecture is Building Information Modelling (BIM). This is the process of managing the information produced during a construction project in a common format. Ian’s experience includes the use of BIM on a prominent healthcare project, which won a CIOB award for collaborative working, and also on a retail facility for a large blue-chip company. This experience has firmly reinforced and strengthened his beliefs in the BIM process that it provides many benefits across the full range of work stages, and Ian will be key in delivering BIM expertise and projects to our clients.
