Ryan has over 12 years’ experience in architectural practice, including new build and refurbishment projects for both the residential and healthcare sectors.
Prior to embarking on a career in architecture, Ryan gained extensive experience in the health and fitness industry. He has since worked on a wide range of schemes and latterly, has specialised in designing spaces for mental health services. He is a keen advocate of early user engagement to successfully capture the needs of the client, allowing design to be tailored accordingly.
Ryan is also the practice’s healthcare champion, sharing the latest developments in healthcare design with the wider team to increase general knowledge.
Ryan has designed and delivered schemes for NHS trusts and private healthcare providers across the north of England including acute care, primary care and mental health services. They have included the Laura Mitchell Health and Wellbeing Centre, a community-based facility providing adult and children’s mental health services in Halifax. He was also project architect for the Neuropsychiatry Centre designed for St Andrews Healthcare, a 72-bed facility for the care of patients with Huntington’s disease and acute dementia.
