Tom started his working life as a junior building designer for a family-run architectural practice in Australia, getting involved in the entire design process from client brief to completion. His responsibilities ranged from on-site surveys of existing homes to be adapted, to large scale commercial projects. After moving to the UK in 2019, Tom worked at a large AJ100 practice, where BIM level 2 standards and a strong understanding of ISO and British Standards were expected on all projects. Career highlights included work on a 3500-capacity performance venue in Derby that required advanced acoustic detailing and high-level BIM coordination, and a large-scale residential development in Epping of nine apartment blocks and more than 350 apartments. Since joining Box Architects, Tom has been using his 14 years of Revit Architecture experience and strong understanding of BIM requirements – along with problem-solving skills and a keen eye for residential design and detailing – across a range of projects.
