New nhow ‘Bru-Tech’ inspired hotel creates dynamic icon for landmark development, 250 City Road and London’s Tech City.
Foster + Partners designed, the 250 City Road development creates a new city landmark for this dynamic tech quarter. It will play host to cafes, restaurants, retail outlets and creative workspaces for new start-ups. The site is to feature a 190-bed 4-star nhow hotel with the addition of two acres of beautiful wifi-enabled green spaces, making this a vibrant new area. Box Architects is delivering the hotel fit out in collaboration with contractor, Wilmott Dixon Interiors.
NH Hotels developed the nhow brand as a dynamic concept and has built hotels in Milan, Berlin and Rotterdam – all focused on contemporary urban lifestyles.
Joining forces with Berkeley Homes, they have now created this London debut. Scheduled to open in 2019, the partnership of two companies dedicated to excellence and exciting design, is creating a true hotel hotspot.
The design concept for the interior has been developed by Project Orange, using the idea of ‘Bru-Tech’, the concept of Brutalism combined with technology. This draws its inspiration from 20th century style and pioneering retro-tech, creating a dynamic hub in the heart of east London’s Tech City. Box Architects is working with the creative team to deliver the style and quality demanded by such a high-profile project.
