Box create flexible spaces for Fortune 100 company
Box Architects have completed an office fit-out for Honeywell International’s new employee hub in Leicester.
The project, across three floors, created noise-proof product-testing labs, modern offices and collaborative meeting spaces.
“Priorities are changing,” said associate director Angela Newton, who led the project for Box. “People are wanting more choice about where and how they work, and there is demand for more flexible spaces.”
Central to the plans for the Leicester hub are so-called ‘huddle rooms’, which respond to the growing demand for small- to medium-sized spaces for people to meet and collaborate.
But there are also (at either end of the scale) larger break-out areas and smaller, more private spaces for solo-working and video meetings. “These days, when people come into the Honeywell hub rather than working from home, the emphasis is on collaboration,” added Angela.
The Box design was based on principles originally set out in Honeywell’s interior design guidelines.
