Box Architects deliver first-class response to post office refurbishment

Box Architects CEO Graham Place has taken a trip down memory lane for our latest project in Chesterfield.

Graham worked as part of the team to design the town’s Post Office headquarters several years ago. Now, after the building was closed and taken over by FI Real Estate, he’s delighted to see it being given a new lease of life.

Box have been commissioned to refurb and refresh the four-storey building to create quality office space in the market town. We have created an entrance lobby with improved security, leading into a welcoming reception area that also provides a range of informal and enclosed meeting spaces.

The rest of the refurbished building provides open-plan offices and core services – all in a palette of blacks and greys that can be easily aligned to tenants’ corporate branding by the choice of colour for finishes and furnishings.

One entire floor has already been successfully let, based on sales visuals alone.

“It’s great to see buildings repurposed for use. As part of the sustainability debate, I see reuse and refurbishment as a useful contributor to the commercial environment.”
