Box Architects have become the first UK architectural practice to be accepted into the Senior Housing & Healthcare Association.
The European-wide association was founded in 2020 to address the challenges of growing demand and limited supply of senior living and healthcare real estate. Today, the SHHA helps operators, banks, investors and stakeholders work together to boost investor confidence and engagement in the sector, and prepare the market for even greater increases in future demand.
SHHA chair and leading authority in alternative real assets and investments, Ron van Bloois, said: “We are faced with extensive challenges in terms of outdated existing stock, changing consumer demand and climate targets related to the Paris Agreement.
“This requires close cooperation within the real estate value chain. Our aim is to share knowledge, create long-term value and work inclusively on cities and regions to develop user-centred buildings.”
Box CEO Graham Place added: ”I am delighted that the SHHA board have accepted our application to join as the first UK-based architectural practice. We are keen to support their mission and contribute to the future of the sector.”
