Box has delivered two new projects for Total Swimming at a rapid pace, in a process set to change the way pool projects are procured and delivered.
Warrington, the first off the blocks, was completed in October 2017 and is a permanent pool under the Swim! brand. It’s a dedicated teaching pool and is the first of a programme of 20 projects. Inspired by the London 2012 modular training pools, it will deliver real value for the community.
“We aim to help people to learn an all-important life skill through innovative and enjoyable classes that combine teaching with fun,” said Steve Parry, CEO of Total Swimming. “Our first Swim! facility gives us an exciting opportunity to do exactly that.”
Andover pool and sports hall closed in early 2017, and the new leisure centre is due to open in spring 2019. Test Valley Borough Council needed to maintain facilities, so Total Swimming worked with Box to provide a temporary 25m pool which can be removed with minimal impact when the new facilities are open.
Projects are being delivered at a rapid pace. Andover was erected within 20 weeks and Warrington was just 18 weeks on site.
